Reconstructing Fire Hydrant Block Plans for an Existing Office Building
A 1980s office building had no usable hydrant documentation. We traced the entire system on site and rebuilt compliant block plans from scratch.

The Problem
A mid-rise office building in Sydney had lost its original hydrant drawings during a series of tenancy fitouts. The only remaining record was a faded photocopy that did not match the installed system, and the building was due for its Annual Fire Safety Statement.
The Challenge
The hydrant system had been modified over decades without documentation updates. Booster arrangements, zone valves and pipe runs had all changed, and access had to be coordinated across occupied floors without disrupting tenants.
Our Solution
Our engineers attended site to physically trace the hydrant system level by level, verified valve positions and booster configuration against the installed condition, and produced new AS 2419 compliant block plans that accurately reflect the building as it exists today.
The Outcome
New compliant hydrant block plans delivered within 3 weeks. The building owner passed the AFSS audit with zero comments on the hydrant documentation, and the maintenance contractor now has accurate records for ongoing servicing.
