Understanding your documentation

What Is a Fire Block Plan?

A fire block plan is a simplified schematic diagram that shows how a building's fire protection systems are laid out and how they work together. It identifies the location of hydrants, sprinkler valves, fire alarm zones, EWIS speaker zones and other critical components — giving fire crews and maintenance technicians a clear operational picture of the installed system.

Unlike full hydraulic or design drawings, a block plan focuses on the layout, zoning and key components that matter during an emergency or a routine compliance inspection. It is the document your fire brigade, certifier and maintenance contractor will reference when they need to understand your building fast.

Why Choose Sydney Block Plan

Most block plan providers are drafters. We are fire protection engineers — and that difference shows in every document we deliver.

FPAS Accredited Engineers

Documentation prepared and quality-assured by Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme accredited professionals — not generic drafters.

Australia Wide Service

We prepare compliant block plans and evacuation diagrams for buildings in every state and territory.

Fast Turnaround

Streamlined engineering workflows mean accurate documentation delivered on time, every time.

AS Compliant Documentation

Every plan is prepared to the relevant Australian Standard — AS 2419, AS 2118, AS 1670, AS 3745 and AS 1851.

Existing Building Specialists

We specialise in the hard jobs: older buildings, missing records and non-compliant legacy documentation.

Baseline Data Specialists

Ahead of the curve on AS 1851 baseline data obligations and compliance recovery strategies.

Existing Buildings & Documentation Reconstruction

Most of our work is in buildings where the original fire system drawings are missing, outdated or simply don't match what's installed. We specialise in reconstructing accurate, compliant documentation from the building itself.

No Usable Drawings?

We physically trace hydrant, sprinkler, detection and EWIS systems on site and rebuild your block plans from scratch.

Outdated Documentation

Renovations, tenancy changes and system modifications leave old plans behind. We verify the installed condition and update your records.

Compliance Recovery

Missing block plans, failed audits and incomplete maintenance records — we help you recover compliance with engineering-led documentation.

Industries We Service

From strata blocks to hospitals, we document the buildings that keep Australia running.
