The Problem
A 30-storey residential strata tower in Sydney had no usable hydrant block plans. The original construction drawings were lost, and the only documentation available was a faded, inaccurate photocopy from the 1990s that did not reflect the installed system.
The Challenge
The building had 30+ levels of hydrant pipework with zone valves, pressure-reducing valves and a complex booster arrangement. Access required coordination with the strata manager across multiple residential floors.
Our Solution
Our engineers conducted a full physical survey of the hydrant system across all levels, tracing pipe runs, identifying valve positions and documenting the booster configuration. We produced new AS 2419 compliant block plans from scratch.
The Outcome
Compliant hydrant block plans delivered within 3 weeks. The Annual Fire Safety Statement was submitted on time with zero auditor comments on the hydrant documentation.
